Panevėžys Autism Association “Lietaus vaikai”
Panevėžys Autism Association “Lietaus vaikai” is a non-governmental organization that unites families raising autistic children in Panevėžys County and all those interested in the topic of autism. The organization aims to create an understanding and open society where autistic individuals and their families feel safe and accepted.
Activities of the Association:
- Education and Training: The organization conducts seminars and training sessions for parents, educators, and specialists, deepening their knowledge about autism, its recognition, and support methods.
- Events and Creative Activities: The association regularly organizes family gatherings and various creative activities that strengthen interpersonal connections and foster community development.
- Family Support: We provide emotional support to families, offer consultations regarding diagnosis, education, and other relevant issues.
- Consultation and Advocacy: We organize peer support groups, provide individual psychological consultations for parents, and assist in representing families’ interests in society and institutions.
- Volunteer Engagement: We involve volunteers in our activities, encouraging them to participate in the organization’s projects and events.
- Collaboration: We work together with other NGOs in Panevėžys, the municipality, and businesses to implement various projects that help strengthen the autism community and increase public awareness.
Panevėžys “Lietaus vaikai” seeks to unite parents of children diagnosed with autism, to listen and learn from them, and to share experiences. We understand that upon receiving an autism diagnosis, parents first seek the best specialists—occupational therapists, speech therapists, and other support sources for their child. However, we also know that support is needed not only for the child but also for the parents themselves so that they can provide a strong foundation for their family. Therefore, we strive to create a supportive and united community where parents, children, and their loved ones feel accepted and understood.
