Project Title:
Expansion of Volunteering Activities, Enhanced Communication Efficiency, and Strengthening of Management Competencies at Panevėžys “Lietaus vaikai” Association
Implementation Period: April 2025 – December 2025
Funding Source: Ministry of Social Security and Labour, Program NVOKK00340 (Large-Scale Institutional Strengthening Project Selection for NGOs)
Project Goal:
To strengthen and expand the strategic directions of the Association’s action plan in pursuit of sustainable growth and preparation for the 2026–2029 operational period. The project focuses on three key areas:
Strengthening the volunteering model,
Improving the effectiveness and quality of communication,
Enhancing organizational management competencies through the formation of a professional board.
Problem Statement:
The scale of the Association’s activities and the needs of the community are growing. However, internal resources are limited, there is no structured volunteer engagement system, a professional board is lacking, and communication support is unsystematic. As public and donor expectations increase, it becomes essential to enhance the visibility and quality of the organization’s communication and to ensure the sustainable development of volunteering, especially in work with autistic youth.
Project Activities:
Expansion of the “Big Friend” Program: Coordination of volunteering, volunteer selection, motivation, supervision, and implementation of the long-term friendship model.
Volunteer Motivation Event: A weekend event for all volunteers of the Association aimed at strengthening the team, fostering engagement, and showing appreciation.
Volunteer Training: An 8-hour training session led by a psychologist on psychological resilience and working with autistic children.
Communication Tools Development: Team and volunteer training on WordPress website management, newsletter creation, and storytelling techniques.
Public Communication Activities:
Social media content (3 posts per week)
Email newsletters (9 mailings)
4 podcast episodes on the topic of volunteering
Internal Communication Event:
Annual General Assembly for members, including presentation of board candidates.
Financial Audit:
Audit of 2024 activities and public release of the report to ensure transparency.
Expected Results:
A strengthened long-term volunteering model and increased number of volunteers in Panevėžys and the region.
Improved internal and external communication content, visuals, and accessibility.
A new strategic plan for the Association for 2026–2029 prepared.
A professional board formed and ready to ensure sustainable governance.
Implementation of 8 comprehensive activities that reinforce the organization’s operation and inclusiveness.
